Pre-Clinical Imaging Consulting

MMI conducts specialized evaluations of images received from pre-clinical testing facilities and imaging centers around the country. By partnering with our clients during early product testing, we become expertly familiar with the treatment and well-positioned to ensure success during later clinical testing. We have a long history of partnering with sponsors to evaluate the performance of novel treatments via imaging. Through collaborations with pre-clinical testing facilities nationwide, we design in-vitro, ex-vivo, and in-vivo translational proof-of-concept studies that lead to treatment design optimization, imaging modality selection, and treatment-specific protocol development. Our expertise in pre-clinical imaging, veterinary radiology, and biomechanical testing provides essential information for new product development and clinical study planning.

Proprietary Database of Anatomic Reference Data

We maintain a proprietary database of reference data compiled from images obtained from a variety of imaging modalities. Our database provides sponsors with detailed anatomic, functional, and morphologic data used for early product design and development. Quantitative, image-based assessments are available to help sponsors refine their product designs to optimally conform to the complex features of the human anatomy. We specialize in providing quantitative measurements of bone and soft-tissue structures, with an emphasis on spine and orthopedic applications. 

Detailed Biomechanical Imaging Evaluation

We provide comprehensive assessments of product performance based on imaging obtained during biomechanical testing of cadavers and other specimens. Through collaborations with biomechanical testing facilities, we process pre-clinical images of experimental treatments to assess preliminary effectiveness of implant sizing, deployment, position, and function. We also recommend specialized protocols for collecting and conducting detailed analyses of the images. The information obtained from pre-clinical testing may be used for early product development and/or pre-market applications.
